Are you planning on doing the Camino this year?

The reasons people go are numerous, but for whatever reason the Camino is calling you, you’re sure to have a life-changing experience. Make your Camino all the more powerful by combining your personal quest with the universal quest of The Camino Documentary! Help us raise money to finish our film by getting sponsored for every kilometer you complete. In addition, you will get to choose any gifts at the donor level you raise in total!

Here’s how it works:

Start by downloading the pledge forms - one to fill out yourself and one to give to each potential sponsor. Let them know that every donation is tax-deductible and goes directly to the post-production phase of the project. By giving others the opportunity to sponsor you, you empower them to make a difference. Once you begin fundraising, you’ll be amazed at how supportive people will be; it will get easier and more fun each step of the way.

Find family members, co-workers or friends that are interested in sponsoring you: they’ll fill out the form with their amount pledged per kilometer you complete or if they prefer, they can donate a flat amount for the whole walk. Make sure to tell them how many you plan to walk! Send your completed pledge form back to us, and you and your sponsors will automatically get the password and link to our extended 23-minute trailer. After completing the walk, send both the sponsors and us the number of kilometers you did. Once the total is calculated, the donation we receive will go entirely to finish our film. The sponsors will receive a tax deduction letter and you will get to choose your donor gifts! Definitely let us know when you plan to depart for the road because we’d like to send you a little something for your trip!

If you plan on blogging about your adventure, give us the link and we’ll add it to our website and our Facebook page! We get about 350 visitors a week to our site and we have over 2,500 followers on Facebook. We’d be happy to direct as much of that traffic as we can to follow you on your trip. Are you bringing a camera? Take pictures of yourself, mile markers or known spots on the trail and we’ll create a Facebook album for your pictures. Anything else you can think of to make it more fun and interactive, let us know; we’re all ears.
